LIGHT PLAY WITH KEVIN ALLEN

You might have heard of my friend Kevin Allen, probably not by his government name. He was formerly known as Erk tha Jerk. Kevin was kind enough to swing by for some lighting experimentation, hopefully there will be more of this to come in the near future.

LA LONG EXPOSURE

I drove down to LA last week to attend the Long Beach Agenda trade show the LA Makossa Cookout. In the meantime, in between time I got out to shoot a few long exposure shots of LA. I will probably produce a couple of these at purchasable prints.

WAIT TILL THE SUN GOES DOWN...

For a few years now ( I think this is year 4) my 4th of July routine has been to document the"Illegal" fireworks displays in East Oakland. It gets super crazy and amazing, the whole city is pretty much a fireworks show. The only city I think that has Oakland beat is LA. All the previous years I shot the images from the ground, this year I used a DJI Phantom 3 4k to take the stills from the air. The photos below were taken over in Funktown and E.14th @ Seminary. I hope you dig the images.

HUNGRY FOR JALISCO

I shot some food photos for Jalisco Cafe recently, they have some of the best carnitas hands down in Oakland. They are only open weekends, it you are ever in The Town you should make a trip over. You will definitely not regret it, here are a few samples from the shoot. Hungry yet?

JAMAICA

I recently had the pleasure to briefly visit the island nation of Jamaica, what breathtakingly beautiful and incredibly heart breaking place. The time was there was not enough but who ever gets to really know a place without living there? I have more photos I took but I think I will just leave these here for now.

WE GOT A WINNER!

You knew it had to happen, you knew we couldn't lose. City of champions & I'll put the whole city on my back, everybody wants to live in my city now that it's on the map. But we recognized the greatness from the days before crack.

LOWRIDING IN AZTLAN

Being raised in California it was damn near impossible to grow up out here and not have some affinity with car culture, especially in the bay area. Being a long time fan of all things candy painted and chromed out I swung by a recent lowrider show at John O'Connell High school, the show helps fund extra funding for the school yearly. Check out some of my shots of these amazing cars.

MAKOSSA LA : JUNE EDITION @ THE LINE HOTEL

I had the pleasure to shoot down to LA recently for my buddy Dj Wonway's day party MAKOSSA LA. Here are couple snaps I took while hanging with the homies. It was a great time and a few luminaries like Russell Simmons, Nelson George & Roy Choy even slid through.
